Stage Sound Services where pleased to again provide the video equipment to Fifty Nine Productions, the video design team behind a host of theatrical and operatic productions including West End smash hit WAR HORSE who are designed the set and video projection for SIGUR RÓS singer Jonsi’s solo world tour. The project brings together an exciting team of world class artists led by 59’s directors Leo Warner, Mark Grimmer and Lysander Ashton who are also the youngest ever Associate Artists of the National Theatre, London. Fifty Nine created a reputation for themselves as pioneering video designers with experimental work with director Katie Mitchell, such as the Olivier Award winning ‘Waves’ and ‘...some trace of her’, starring Ben Whishaw. Joining Fifty Nine’s core team is Director of Animation Peter Stenhouse, and leading European lighting designer Bruno Poet. The epic live show features a new experience for the gig-going audience – a cross between theatrical production, film, concert and art installation. Fifty Nine draw on their experience of designing video projection for world class stage productions such as Satyagraha (English National Opera), the Metropolitan Opera New York’s 125th Anniversary Gala, and the National Theatre of Scotland’s Black Watch, to create a magical stage environment for Jónsi’s live performance. The physical set, inspired by the ‘Deyrolle’ taxidermist shop in Paris which burned down in 2008 are brought to spectacular life with animation, film and cutting edge projection design. The 9 output fully redundant and switched digital video system included the following equipment.
