Fela UK Tour

COMPANY: Fela UK Ltd

VENUE: Touring / Salder's Wells

After supplying supporting equipment to the video team at the National Theatre for the UK premiere of Fela SSS where delighted to be asked to quote for and selected to provide the video system for the Sadler's Wells London and Royal Theatre Carré Amsertdam productions of Fela.

We worked closely with system designer Stephen (Spooky) Parkinson as well as the US creative team to produce a custom system based on Catalyst media servers and Panasonic projectors, this was based around the system used at the National Theatre, but with some modifications to suit touring. The system was designed to be installed and up and running as quickly as possible to work with the touring schedule of the show, this meant as few interconnects as possible as well as Kit that will work reliably every time it is turned on. To allow this we produced bespoke racks to allow all the control equipment to remain permanently connected in the same rack, these manufactured by our in-house flight case department. We also produced custom metalwork rigs to allow the projectors and their first surface mirrors to be mounted on the downstage header above the stage.
