Catalyst Media Server V4 is a fully featured multiple output Media Server system designed to run on Apple's latest intel based computers. It allows unparalleled flexibility and control over the live and pre-recorded video elements of any production.
The system allows multiple layers of video to be played back simultaneously, overlayed with visual and colour fx, scaled skewed and rotated and then sent out of a single VGA/DVI ouput.
With the addition of a Matrox Tripple Head2Go, or the Datapath X4 the number of outputs can be increased to three or four. This allows either three completely seperate video streams with independent geometry control, or they can be combined and edge-blended to create one large seamless canvas, even onto curved surfaces.
The system can support both analogue and SDI/HD-SDI inputs to capture live video using Active Silicon LFG4/Phoenix capture cards. This can then be treated with the same pallete of visual and colour FX available on pre-recorded video, allowing all elements to be mixed together seamlessly.
Catalyst also features a full range of show/device control input and ouputs. Supported protocols include, Midi, MSC, MTC, SMPTE, RS232, RS422 and DMX. To complement this we have a wide selection of Midi and DMX distribution equipment including midi line drivers and DMX-Artnet nodes.
In additon to video playback, Catalyst also features Pixelmad. This allows any video content to be mapped to a large selection of LED and Generic lighting fixtures via DMX/Artnet. The system allows precise placement of each fixture in space to allow the video to seamlessly move from fixture to fixture, making creating complex and visually appealing chases and colour effects effortless.
All our systems are fitted with the latest high-end graphics cards and SSD drives to maximise the performance when dealing with multiple layers of live and pre-recorded video. Systems can be fully tailored to your requirements with a selection of additional hardware and provided in a wide variety of rack sizes to accommodate both single server systems, as well as fully redundent multiple server racks and beyond, in fact for more bespoke systems we are often able with the assistance of our in-house flight case department to provide the system in acase to you exact specifications.
